THE SITE
Situated on Frodingham Road in the heart of Crosby, Scunthorpe, The Lighthouse is an attractive thirteen bedroom Supported Housing Project with an adjacent Life-Skills centre.

The Bed and Breakfast hotel previously on the same site was fully renovated in Sept 07 to excellent standards including enhancements for disabled guests. The life-skills centre emerges in Spring 08 from what was once a butchers and more recently a garage block.

“We are keen to work with any housing providers who can offer effective alternatives to Bed & Breakfast accommodation. Your project appears to fit our needs in terms of type of accommodation, location and hopefully management standards” Mark Sherwood. Nth Lincs Council.

THE PURPOSE
There is a need within North Lincolnshire for short - medium term housing for those people who have been officially recognised as “hard to house”. Many of these people who desperately need housing also have needs in other aspects of life which may have contributed to their current position.

The Lighthouse will be an attractive place to stay and create an atmosphere which will raise guests aspirations. The life-skills centre will provide training and coaching in many areas ranging from debt advice and financial literacy to parent craft and marriage skills.

The purpose of The Lighthouse is to provide a home and hope to those in need of both.

“I think it’s a good idea to have a place for the homeless to stay. They need more than somewhere to sleep they need help to find work and a new life” Local Resident. Crosby
